Delve Deep Into The Caves

Let's begin our journey down through the caves

On entering the Caves, long winding passages lead deep underground for over half a mile, through the great Banqueting Hall and past various chambers. In these you will find statues of various members of the Hell-Fire Club.

The final destination is the Inner Temple, which is reached by crossing the River Styx. You are now several hundred feet below the Church on top of the hill with its Golden Ball.

Filming

Filming

The Hell-Fire Caves are available for hire as a location and have been used for various TV, film and music video productions.

If you are looking for underground caves, grottoes, dungeons, tunnels, ice-houses or cellars then this may be the perfect location.

The Mausoleum can also be made available and has served as a location for such films as The Importance of Being Earnest and Burke and Hare.

Little Dorrit used the Caves for a prison scene.  One of the episodes of Most Haunted was filmed in the Caves, which involved a night-long vigil. It has been extremely popular. Horrible Histories re-enacted a scene in the Caves for one of their series.
